Vivek Shankar Varadharajan is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the MIST Lab. He received his M.Sc. in Automation and Robotics from the Technical University of Dortmund and his bachelor's in Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering from Anna University, and completed his PhD in Computer Engineering at Polytechnique Montréal. His research interests include machine learning, artificial intelligence, distributed robotics, and cyber-physical systems.

Current Work

Vivek's work centers on the software ecosystem for long-term autonomy in robot swarms — making swarms reliable, updatable, and deployable in the real world. His projects include ROSBuzz (bringing the Buzz swarm programming language to ROS), dynamically updatable swarm behaviors, distributed data sharing for swarms (SOUL), and multi-robot exploration planners for space applications.
