+ Darren Chan

I am pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science at the Nanyang Technological University in Singapore. I intend to specialize in the field of security once I graduate. Currently I am a research intern at Ecole Polytechnique de Montreal (QC, Canada) helping to develop libraries for commmon swarm behaviours.

I enjoy playing tennis during my free time.

+ Current Projects

In the field of swarm robotics, there is a lack of dedicated tools, especially software which aid in the real-world development of swarm robotics systems. The team at MIST has created Buzz, a programming language which provide developers a powerful set of swarm primitives based on a decentralizd execution model, in reponse to the issue of programmability in literature.

The aim of my project is to develop Buzz libraries of widely known swarm behaviours that will form the backbone of many more complex swarm behaviours.

+ Scholarship and Awards

I received the Local Study Award (LSA) by the Singapore Armed Forces and the Republic of Singapore Navy in 2014
